NTS Pre-Requisites Introduction
TAS has three groupings for the National Training Squad (NTS). They are:
a. NTS Team A
b. NTS Team B
c. NTS Probationary Team*
The pre-requisites for Male and Female are different. All new comers who can meet the requirements
of the NTS pre-requisites are welcome to come down for a selection trial before he/she can join the
NTS. Once selected, he/she will first become a member of our NTS Probationary Team* for a period
of at least 3 months, which can be waived at the discretion of the Head Coach if his/her performance,
attitude, discipline and attendance exceedingly surpasses the minimum standards set.
Apart from the pre-requisites, all NTS members will have to conform to a certain code of conduct to
maintain the status quo of NTS, like regular training attendance, discipline and attitude as a national
triathlete. He/She will also have to show improvement over his/her own personal best timing in a
time/selection trial which will be held on a quarterly basis. Outstanding athletes who comply to these
criterias will be rewarded with benefits that includes training allowance and attire sponsorship.
Youth Training Squad
In line with the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) to be held in 2010, TAS had also decided to assemble a
Youth Olympic Squad. We’ll also be having regular time trials to be held once every 3 months.
Potential young athletes who think they can make the mark are invited to come down for these trials
anytime. The full schedule for the trials will be publish on our website soon. Meanwhile, those between
the ages of 12 years to 16 years as counted from 31st December 1991 are welcome to come for the
first selection trial
Selection Time Trial
If you meet the requirements, we welcome and encourage you to come down for the selection time
trial below:
Swim Trial
Date: 1st April 2008 (Tuesday)
Time: 1830hrs
Location: OSIM headquarters swimming pool
Run Trial
Date: 4th April 2008 (Friday)
Time: 1830hrs
Location: Bishan Stadium
All those who are interested to come down for the trial can email to Mr Eugene Ong
<contact@triathlonsingapore.org> by 29th March 2008 (2359hrs). Please include your name, age,
home address, and other information that you deem useful to help you in the selection.
