Ying Ren dominated the Closed Sprint Category at the NUS Biathlon held at East Coast Park by winning
his race of the season. Admittedly, it was a hard race for him as he tried to shake off the rustiness from
the off-season. It's a chance now to fine tune his programme as he prepares for upcoming races. Ying
Ren will spend more time in training for his running discipline this year and is aiming for good finishes in
the upcoming OSIM and the Half Marathon.
Travis did well at the race too. Racing in the Open Sprint Category he finished 4th. The 15 year old's
confidence definitely received a boost from this performance and he will be looking forward to greater
challenges in the future. Travis has a full programme this year and will be gradually building his
capability for meeting the challenges of training and racing. Travis hopes that his meticulous preparation
will earn him a spot on the Singapore Team come the YOG in 2010.
